Latest Charity Update and Appeal
Some wonderful news from Yvonne who's running the "Care Cloth Project" for us now: Yvonne was able to take 28 care cloth kits to St Martins in Norwich last week along with 20 large bars of soap; these were very well received and much appreciated. Here is the thank you email she received from St Martin's:
"...on behalf of our Trustees and our service users thank-you so much for your donation of toiletries.
I understand thanks must also go to the congregation of St. Marys Church Attleborough (who have been generous to us in the past) and to the Stitches for Presents Charity Group.
You may be assured that the packs will be distributed to those in need – this includes people who our rough sleepers team come into contact with. We are sure they will be much appreciated.
We do think it rather a clever idea and we wish you well with your charitable endeavours."
However, Yvonne is now very low on "ingredients" for making up the next batch of care cloths which she intends to deliver in November. She especially needs combs, razors and toothbrushes, as well as sewn-up flannels. So if you have the opportunity to pop round your local Pound-Shop for some cheap supplies, or you have brought some more of the mini toiletries from your recent summer holidays, please mail them to her as soon as possible!
And finally, while we are on the note of appeals, please don't forget that Christmas card sale will have to start in October, so please make sure you get your cards to me and finished artwork for mounting to Sandra Martin in good time!
Many thanks to all of you for your continued support!
